The Year 5 Sports Leaders have been busy planning new events for next year’s event. First, they looked at what events work really well as part of the whole day and what they might like to change e.g. are there some events that are too similar? Is there enough variety to cater for all skill sets and children?
They have gone through various processes of elimination to come up with a final 4 events, which they have tested out with their Year 2 buddies, who as you can imagine, expressed their opinions very clearly!
The River Crossing game came up trumps and was selected. It requires a huge amount of collaboration, with everyone taking part. It requires physical skills as well as planning and ingenuity. It is also very different to any of the events we currently use. Most importantly, it is GREAT FUN!
