School Dinners

There are three lunch options for children, these include:

  • To have a school dinner that is cooked on site.
  • To bring a packed lunch to eat at school
  • To go home for lunch.

Meals at School

All meals are cooked on site by a team of staff led by Miss Griffiths.

Our school meals are provided by South Gloucestershire Council Traded Services the menu is updated fairly frequently and the most recent can be found here at the bottom of the page underneath linked documents.  More information is available from the School Office or from the council.

School meals cost £2.30 per day for Junior children. Up until Christmas all money should be sent into school in a sealed envelope. The Junior School is now responsible for collecting the school meals money from parents and paying for all the school meals consumed.

From January all menu choices (including home packed lunches) for all children will need to be made at home through ParentPay: https://www.parentpay.com/ For Junior children this system will also replace paying for meals via Schools Money, cash or cheques and will enable you to see a live balance for any payments made. Initial log in instructions are attached at the bottom of this page.

For Infant children a Universal Paid Meal is available every day.

Packed Lunches

Packed lunches should be wholesome and healthy. Please include:

  • Starchy Foods – These include bread, rice, potatoes, pastas and others.
  • Protein Food – These include meat, eggs, beans, fish and others.
  • Vegetables or salad, and a portion of fruit.
  • A Dairy Item – This could be yoghurt or cheese.

Click here for more information about healthy lunches.

Packed lunches should be in a clearly named box.  Drinks are not necessary as water is freely available.

Morning Break Snacks

In the Infant School there is a free piece of fruit or vegetable available everyday for the children.

The Junior children are able to buy toast from the kitchen during morning break for 10p a slice, except of Friday when fruit is available instead.

Drinks

It is important that children drink plenty of water. This has an impact on their and health and their readiness to learn. Please send your child to school with a named re-sealable bottle suitable for water.

Please note that no other drinks are acceptable in the classroom. A pure fruit juice with a packed lunch is acceptable but…

NO sugar based or fizzy drinks are allowed!

Lunch at Home

Children can go home for lunch if they are collected and returned by an adult. All children leaving the premises during the school day should have written permission from a parent and must sign in and out each time they go home for lunch.
