We believe at Crossways that it is hugely important for children growing up in today’s digital world to know and understand how to use the internet safely, just like you would teach them road safety and other safety learning. Teach your children to always be careful when using the internet. It can help them keep in touch with their friends and help their education – but it can also cause harm – to you and to others. We have therefore taken positive steps to ensure that risks are minimised by educating and empowering our children to use the internet with care.
‘Being online is an integral part of children and young people’s lives. Social media, online games, websites and apps can be accessed through mobile phones, computers, laptops and tablets – all of which form a part of children and young people’s online world.
The internet and online technology provides new opportunities for young people’s learning and growth, but it can also expose them to new types of risk.’ (NSPCC)
